Winchester to Ronda, Spain
The Driver and Alternate Navigator (the good looking one, as opposed to the Peking to Paris variety) once more set off at the crack of dawn one November morning for the Portsmouth ferry to Caen, to compete in the London to Casablanca Rally (though being a Philip Young organised rally it neither started in London nor finished in Casablanca!).

A phone call and subsequent e-mail – could the Morgan be at Angouleme for a display and 3 parade laps between practice and racing at the Circuit de Ramparts meeting? Despite a clash with the Goodwood Revival meeting - an invitation which could not be turned down. The Peeks, Morgan and Gite owners relocated close to Cognac ( www.cottagesandclassics.com) had been asked to arrange a display of 20 odd Morgans representing the marque on its centenary year. |

Peking to Paris - Prologue |

There we were on the 23rd May, sitting in The Shangri-La Hotel in Beijing, amazed we were finally here! It had been a struggle to convince the organisers of the 2007 Peking to Paris that our 1953 Morgan plus four was up to the challenge (or was Philip Young more concerned with its proud, but ageing owner?!). However, together with my son, I had prevailed over the doubts that the trusty Mog was up to the trials ahead and although we would have cause in the weeks ahead to question our confidence, we can look back now and say Yes, Mog did it magnificently and we would do it all over again!!
